Decommission Design

The two barge floatover is an efficient method to decommission and re-use the topside, with the weight ranges from 1500MT to more than 6000MT. The two barge floatover decommission can be divided into six major phases, including standby, mating of transfer, exit, hold-on, entry and mating of float-over.

PTTEP plans to study the possibility of reusing/relocating a conventional jacket in order to utilize the existing conventional jackets from previous phases after the 1st installed locations to other prospective locations on the Gulf of Thailand Field, which is expected to be a major contributor to the cost reduction. The topside, boat-landing Jacket and Pile up to (-) 5m below seabed to be remove from JKWK and wet tow to TRP-19, The distance between two platform location is approximate 18 nm.

The wet tow analysis is to assess the vessel rotation, Jacket CoG motion & Acceleration, Jacket Bottom Clearance, Boom, Sling & Crossing Line Tension, and the clearance between Jacket and Vessel to check operational environmental condition.

The WZ10-3 SPM structure is planned to be decommissioned using partial removal method. The SPM structure will be separated into two parts, which are the top section over water, base structure with column structure and pile stubs. Derrick barge is used to lift and load the separated parts onto the cargo barge. The integrity of decommissioned structure and equipment capacity needs to be assured during removal operation, as well as the mooring for the derrick barge, the transportation and sea-fastening analysis for the cargo barge have been assessed.
